Food is decent but the main dining room takes forever. We dined in all of the “extra” restaurants which I find frustrating to have to pay for variety. We're also happy to say that Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has an impressive record for safety. Despite being one of the largest cruise lines in the world, there haven't been any major incidents that we're aware of.
Cobranded Cards
That's more than 11 times the cost of the least-expensive inside cabin (which was starting at $646 per person, based on double occupancy). Balcony cabins on the same sailing started at around $836 per person, based on double occupancy. Royal Caribbean's designers are masters at designing vessels that can carry thousands and thousands of people but still feel relatively uncrowded — at least in some areas. While the solo cabins on the Quantum-class ships don't come with a dedicated solo lounge as they do on Norwegian ships, solo travelers will find Royal Caribbean-hosted meetups for solo travelers on the vessels.

With only a few meters and a few thousand tons separating them, each can claim the title of the world’s largest cruise ship. More than 1,180 feet long and 16 decks high, each vessel boasts approximately 2,700 staterooms for a double-occupancy capacity of 5,400 guests. But, there's much more to the Royal Caribbean fleet than these showstoppers. The 2,416-passenger Vision-class Rhapsody of the Seas isn't the biggest or the flashiest of the fleet, but it does have a lot to offer on a more manageable scale. Activities are aplenty onboard, and there won't be a moment where you're wondering what to do. Active cruisers can tackle a rock climbing wall, fitness classes or a jogging track.
The best Royal Caribbean cruise ship for every type of traveler
The line typically sends four ships every summer to Alaska. The line's remaining eight vessels, split among two classes, are relatively smaller, with maximum occupancy topping out at around 2,500 passengers. The Oasis Class and Icon Class ships are not the only biggies in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
Celebrity Cruises
A passenger staying in suites can get to the Diamond Plus level with just 13 seven-night cruises. Take a few longer voyages, like a transatlantic sailing, and you can reach it even sooner. Smoking (including e-cigarette smoking) is allowed only in designated outdoor areas, casinos and the cigar clubs found on Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships. It's forbidden in cabins and on cabin balconies, and those who violate this rule will face a $250 cleaning fee. In the casino, only cigarette smoking is allowed, and only in designated areas on most ships (smoking in casinos is forbidden on sailings out of Australia and U.K. ports). Royal Caribbean also offers dedicated teen and tween programs on ships for children ages 12 to 17.

“They asked me three times if I needed medication,” he says of the security people who apparently interrogated him in full view of others having breakfast. And now I understand what the maître d’ was saying to me on the first day of my cruise. He wasn’t saying “pendejo.” He was saying “Pinnacle.” The dining room was for Pinnacles only, all those older people rolling in like the tide on their motorized scooters. We personally just like to go about on our own, and during our cruise, we only took 1 simple bus tour around Cozumel. Maybe next time we’ll choose to swim with dolphins or venture deeper into the countryside. Of course, you could choose to purchase extra internet devices or an extra excursion, but what really impacts the budget is if you choose the Deluxe Beverage Package, which both of you have to purchase.
Kudos to the cruise crew, wearing a face mask is strictly enforced throughout the cruise, except when you’re in the swimming pools or on the Flow Rider. There are better options to explore in Alaska and some of the smaller ports of call around the world. But no cruise line (other than Carnival) matches Royal for the vast array of popular destinations in the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska, South America, the Far East, and Australia and New Zealand. Renowned worldwide for the friendly and engaging Gold Anchor service of its crew members, Royal Caribbean has been voted Best Overall Cruise Line in the Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards for a dozen consecutive years. Service and consistency are particular strengths on Rhapsody of the Seas -- the result of being a medium-size (and not an overwhelmingly large) vessel. Crew members, from waiters and cabin stewards to the guest services personnel, make an effort to extend their warmest welcome and offer their genuine assistance.

Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas Dress Code
I haven’t even set sail and I truly regret even booking with them. I do not feel that Nassau, Bahamas is of equal or greater port value as Labadee, Haiti. I understand the cruise has the right to change ports per the contract, but I’ve been to the Bahamas many times and contacted Royal Caribbean to change to a different cruise that would sail the same dates. I was told no changes could be made after final payment.
If you are a cruising veteran, you probably look to Royal Caribbean for some of the biggest and most innovative ships at sea. Members earn points for every night they sail on one of the line's ships, with double points awarded to passengers staying in suites. It would take five cruises if you're doing seven-night trips (fewer if you're in a suite) to reach the second tier, Platinum (30 points). Royal Caribbean also operates a Royal Babies nursery program for children ages 6 to 18 months old that includes interactive child and parent classes with activities developed by early childhood experts. The Royal Tots program (for ages 18 months to 3 years) offers 45-minute interactive playground sessions with age-appropriate activities and toys. On many ships, parents can drop off their babies at the nursery for short-term babysitting (this service comes with an extra charge).
Without falling into stereotypes or preconceptions, I prepare myself for a friendly outspokenness on the part of my fellow seafarers that may not comply with modern DEI standards. My wife recommended that I bring one of my many T-shirts featuring Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, as all Americans love the beagle and his friends. But I naively thought that my meatball T-shirt would be more suitable for conversation-starting. Crew members from every part of the global South, as well as a few Balkans, are shepherding us along while pressing flutes of champagne into our hands.
A luxury bag is not just a fashion accessory; it’s an investment that deserves proper care and attention to ensure its longevity and pristine condition. You will never get bored onboard Allure of the Seas. It all depends on the destination, and there are plenty of excursions to choose from. Some are rather simple and cheap (€30-50), while others can be quite expensive, but most are in the € range per person. During check-in and boarding, there was a bit of queuing, but much less than what we expected. Royal Caribbean is used to handling huge crowds, so it was a nice and smooth experience.
We hope you enjoyed the article (and video) as much as we did creating it, and maybe this will inspire you to go on your first (or next?) cruise. The completely opposite of Suite Life, we stayed in the smallest, cheapest room onboard the ship – and we would happily do it again. What they all have in common though, is that they’re out to have a good time, so you will only see friendly smiling faces wherever you go. You don’t have to be social, but there are plenty of opportunities to make new acquaintances.
However, we didn’t try it during our trip as we felt the ocean view from the upper deck was quite good. Additionally, there is an additional fee of US$20 per person (varies by cruise). We didn’t think the cost was justified, and many others on board seemed to agree as we didn’t see it in much use during our sailing. One definite change will be my view of a cruise vacation. I’ve always balked at the idea of taking a cruise, because the idea of being stuck on a moving ship for days doesn’t sound like an exciting proposition. Although living in a small island like Singapore, I decided it might be time to take a trip as I have cabin fever after being stuck in Singapore last year.
Ship was very clean, staff was friendly, food was great. Took our company for our first annual trip and look forward to going again. When planning a trip and purchasing insurance for this trip with the cruise line; we was told that if we could not go for any reason due to illness our money would be refunded to us. Well a few weeks prior to the cruise my husband's Parkinson's began to cause some problems with his legs really bad and he felt that it would be wise not to take the trip at this time. We contacted the trip planner, who in turn gave us the numbers to call and cancel our trip.
There's no doubt about it, Wonder of the Seas is the Royal Caribbean ship to book if you're looking to live the high life (and are willing to spend big bucks to do so). A day or two before I got off the ship, I decided to make use of my balcony, which I had avoided because I thought the view would only depress me further. My suite did not look out on Central Park after all. This entire time, I had been living in the ship’s Disneyland, Surfside, the neighborhood full of screaming toddlers consuming milkshakes and candy.
As I walk down the streets of Charlotte Amalie in my fluorescent Icon of the Seas cap, an old Rastafarian stares me down. ” kids are singing outside the AquaDome, while their adult minders look on in disapproval, perhaps worried that Mr. Washy Washy is grooming them into a life of gayness. I heard a southern couple skip the buffet entirely out of fear of Mr. Washy Washy.
